Seems this doesn't happen locally (as for as the user tried), and the problem also happened with my word document when i stored it in the network and kept it open while i was. This means that even opening files from within the Word App brings up a Chrome OS files app window. Mark as Final (in the "Ribbon" versions of MS Word).
